The Alaska Salmon Alliance (ASA), is a 501(c)6 fisheries trade organization representing seafood processors and commercial fishermen of the Kenai Peninsula. We have joined together with the goal of preserving long-term opportunities, not just for ourselves, but for all user groups dependent on the salmon stocks of Cook Inlet in Southcentral Alaska. The Alaska Salmon Alliance envisions that salmon will be a part of our culture forever. The Alaska Salmon Alliance, established in 2011 advocates for and promotes responsible salmon policies that will result in long term economic opportunities and benefits for Alaska coastal communities for future generations. To achieve its goals, the ASA has created an advocacy program to promote sustainable and science-based salmon management policies and regulations. To this end, the ASA endeavors to develop positive working relationships with the Alaska Board of Fisheries, the Alaska Legislature, Kenai Peninsula Borough, the Anchorage Assembly and the Matanuska- Susitna Borough, and residents of the Southcentral region. The ASA also collaborates with other organizations to protect and enhance the salmon resources of the region and to insure the future of the Alaska salmon industry. The ASA also intends to establish, maintain and support comprehensive research programs to provide quality data to the industry, the general public and public agencies and commercial organizations.
