Just because you go fishing doesn't mean you catch fish. However, for us we did. My point is that what makes a great trip is the people you spend it with. Brad our captain was on the spot, very attentive to our needs, and an all around good guy. Will be back!

James is a cool guy who loves to fish. His enthusiasm translates to his job, so it doesn't feel like you are on a tour. It feels like you're hanging out with a friend who is willing to teach you how to fish. My husband and I fished for the first time. The salmon were not biting that day, but the weather was beautiful, and we had fun trying. I did catch a Dolly Varden! I experienced the excitement of catching, but the law said I had to release it. James seemed to feel bad that we didn't catch salmon, but it's about the journey, right? Just floating on the stunning glacial water and being in the majesty of nature was worth the price of admission. I will warn you though: this activity is not for those with delicate constitutions. Cooper Landing has coordinates more so than an address. You will be up at 5am, it will take about 30 mins on a rough, dirt road to get to the dock, and you will be on and in the water for about 7 hours. There are no bathrooms once you get in the boat (those waders and boots are not lady friendly). The weather and fishing are hit and miss. You will get dirty. Would we do this again? ABSOLUTELY! Thank you, James, for giving us one of the highlights of our honeymoon!

      That water!

What a great experience. Brad outfitted our family of five, gave us some pointers, let us choose our spot & our 8 hr day began. Brad stayed close by helping each of us. He's extremely knowledgeable & passionate about fly fishing and a really nice guy. Our family declared this the favorite activity during our vacation.

We're so lucky we found this place while on our honeymoon tour around Alaska! We booked an all-day fishing charter and the guides were very helpful over the phone leading up to the tour, telling us what to expect so we would be prepared. Day of our guide James offered to pick us up at our motel in Coopers Landing, and even grabbed spinner rods when we told him we were interested in fishing for silvers in addition to trout. We had a blast out on the river! James was an expert guide, giving us lots of helpful tips, and the thrill of reeling in our first silver was addicting! Our guide even gave more tips and pointed out places we could continue fishing on our own the next day. We had so much fun, we booked an additional day in Cooper Landing to keep fishing. Check there guys out!

My husband, Brother-In-Law and myself signed up for a 4 hour fishing trip for salmon. Our guide (who is also one of the owners) was Brad. Outstanding guy ! Patient, knowledgeable & funny too ! My husband & I had never fly fished and Brad taught us the method in a very easy to understand way- explaining exactly the dynamics of what you are trying to accomplish in each cast. Before long we were hooking sockeyes, making for some great photos (which Brad was kind enough to use our camera and take whenever he had a chance). The fish that we caught, while quite large, were a "little too far gone" into the spawning mode to eat but we did end up putting a nice one on our plates later that night (delicious- thanks Brad!) The river was beautiful, the scenery- spectacular ! This was a once in a lifetime great experience made even better by a great company with an incredible guide ! Top notch ! You will NOT be disappointed !!!
